Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
This page explains what Load Us Up stores in your browser, what each item is for, and how to change your mind. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more generally.
The short version
Nothing that measures advertising is stored until you press Accept. If you press Reject, or simply ignore the banner, no advertising or analytics cookies are set at all — and if you had accepted previously, rejecting now deletes the ones already there.
The site works exactly the same either way. Refusing costs you nothing.
What we store
Needed for the Site to Work — Set Regardless of Consent
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| luu_consent | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected, so we stop asking | Until you clear your browser |
| bz_vid | Local storage | A random identifier that lets us tell one visitor’s phone clicks apart from another’s. It is not linked to your name and never leaves our own systems. | Until you clear your browser |
| bz_utm | Session storage | Remembers which advert you arrived from, so an enquiry made on a later page is still credited to it | Until you close the tab |
Advertising and Measurement — Only After You Accept
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells us which pages are used | Up to 2 years |
| _gcl_* | Google Ads | Tells us which advert led to an enquiry | Up to 90 days |
| IDE, test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Advert measurement and, where enabled, personalisation | Up to 13 months |
The exact Google cookies set depend on which of their tools are active at the time. If you refuse, Google’s tags still run but are prevented from storing or reading any identifier, so they cannot recognise you or your device.
Changing your mind
Clear this site’s data in your browser and the banner will appear again on your next visit, letting you choose differently. In most browsers that is under Settings, then Privacy, then site data or cookies.
Choosing Reject also removes the Google cookies already on your device, so withdrawing consent actually stops the tracking rather than only preventing more of it.
Cookies we do not use
We do not use social media tracking pixels, advertising networks other than Google’s, or any cookie that builds a profile of you across unrelated websites.
